Overlooked rescue lane28-year-old dies after colliding with ambulance

A driver on the B523 near Talheim noticed too late that a rescue lane was forming in front of her on the road. The result: a particularly serious traffic accident.

On the B523 near Talheim (Tuttlingen district), a 28-year-old was thrown with her car into an approaching ambulance and died. The crew of the ambulance was seriously injured in the accident, the police said.

The woman had therefore recognized too late that other road users formed a rescue lane and slowed down. She therefore crashed her car into the rear of a car that was braking in front of her, then skidded and finally crashed into the ambulance with the roof.

The woman died at the scene of the accident from her injuries. A dog in her car was also killed in the accident. The 21-year-old ambulance driver was trapped and flown to a hospital with serious injuries. His 60-year-old passenger also came to a clinic with serious injuries, as did the driver of the car that the 28-year-old had hit. The 84-year-old man being transported in the ambulance was also taken to the hospital.
