FINANCE MINISTER LINDNER SOUNDS THE ALARMBureaucracy endangers Germany!
The German economy is suffering from the flood of bureaucracy. Companies are sounding the alarm, warning of a “dictatorship of the small print”.
Now Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner (44, FDP) is also making clear statements, warning: The bureaucracy is a danger to jobs and companies!
“People and companies in Germany are slowed down every day by excessive bureaucracy. We mustn't burden them even more - regardless of whether it's about higher taxes or additional work for the office," Lindner told BILD.
According to government estimates, the economy had to shell out 51 billion euros in 2022 alone for federal bureaucracy requirements.
Lindner clearly: "New regulations are always jeopardizing growth and jobs."
The fact is: After falling since 2012, the burden of bureaucracy on German companies has increased again since November 2021. This is proven by the bureaucracy cost index.
Lindner's demand: the government must "actively cut back on bureaucracy".
As Minister of Finance, he had already made initial proposals in this regard. "For example, we want to simplify reporting procedures for cash registers, free small businesses from declaration requirements and raise the limits for bookkeeping requirements," Lindner continues.
In the coalition agreement, the traffic light government had ambitiously announced that it would reduce "superfluous bureaucracy". A new bureaucracy relief law is intended to relieve "the economy, citizens and administration compared to the previous bureaucracy" - the law is currently in the works.
