Affair surrounding ex-cyber boss: Ministry had contact with the ZDF comedian Lawyer accuses Faeser of “plotting” with Böhmermann

Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (53, SPD)

New allegations in the secret service affair surrounding Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (53, SPD).

Now it comes out: Long before Faeser fired her then cyber defense chief Arne Schönbohm (54), there were contacts with ZDF comedian Jan Böhmermann.

He then promptly made the accusations (alleged contacts with Russian secret services), which have now been proven false, the subject of his show “ZDF Magazin Royale”.

Explosive: TODAY, a state secretary in the Interior Committee confirmed that her colleague, State Secretary Juliane Seifert, had contact with Böhmermann several times (telephone or video conversations). At least on April 6th and May 23rd - six months before the broadcast in which Böhmermann publicly branded Schönbohm as a friend of the Russians. It is said to have been about “hate on the internet”.

Why did the high-ranking Faeser employee call the ZDF satirist?

Schönbohm's lawyer Christian Winterhoff has a theory: "These phone calls were probably also about the allegations that were later made against the plaintiff in the ZDF broadcast." He speaks of KOMPLOTT! Winterhoff to BILD: “All in all, one gets the impression of a plot against Mr. Schönbohm.”

As early as June 2022, a list of Schönbohm's alleged misconduct was drawn up for the head of the cyber department. In this context, the lawyer “suspects” that the BMI has, as it were, “stockpiled” possible points of attack against him – as he wrote in his bullying complaint to the administrative court, which BILD was able to see.

So it is not proven that the storyline for Böhmermann was supplied by the ministry. BUT: The contact further puts the ministry in need of explanation.

► Background: In the “ZDF Magazin Royale” on October 7th, presenter Jan Böhmermann reported on alleged indirect contacts between the BSI boss and the Russian secret service. On October 12, the BMI banned Schönbohm from publicly commenting on the serious allegations.

Schönbohm was forced to publicly rehabilitate himself after false allegations in the TV magazine. That is why he applied for disciplinary proceedings to be initiated against himself on October 17, 2022. The investigation should show on what basis he was shot.

On October 18, the minister prohibited him from “conducting official business.”

However, there were never any disciplinary proceedings against Schönbohm due to a lack of suspicion. Instead, the set period of three months for the preliminary disciplinary investigation was significantly exceeded.
