New York Times: Biden considers withdrawal Poll sensation for Michelle Obama

The shining light of the Democrats: Michelle Obama, former First Lady and wife of former President Barack Obama

The White House has rejected a New York Times report claiming that US President Joe Biden is considering withdrawing from the presidential race.

"This claim is absolutely false," a spokesman for the government headquarters said when asked. The newspaper's report states that Biden had spoken to an "important ally" about it. According to the ally, the Democrat said that he knew that he might not be able to save his candidacy if he could not convince the public of his suitability as a presidential candidate in the coming days.

After his weak performance in the TV debate against his opponent Donald Trump, Biden is now trying to close ranks in his Democratic Party. The New York Times and CNN reported on Wednesday before a meeting with Democratic governors that Biden believes the coming days will be crucial.

Declaration of war! Biden declared in a phone call with campaign staff: "Nobody is pushing me out," said a campaign aide. And continued: "I'm not leaving. I'm in this race until the end and we're going to win."

Previously, Lloyd Doggett of Texas became the first Democratic congressman to publicly call on Biden to withdraw his candidacy for the upcoming presidential election.

The trouble for Biden is currently not letting up! A new poll has now shown that one in three supporters of Biden's party thinks that the 81-year-old should drop out of the race for the presidency. A glimmer of hope: Former First Lady Michelle Obama (60) would beat Donald Trump (78) in the US election!

50 percent of respondents voted for Michelle Obama , only 39 for Trump. This makes Obama the only potential Democratic candidate who would be the favorite to run against the Republican. All other Democratic politicians land behind or on a par with Trump.

In a direct comparison with Trump, Biden receives 40 percent, as does the Republican. Vice President Kamala Harris (59) is behind Trump with 42 percent, who has 43 percent approval. The governors of California and Michigan, who are also considered potential successors, have even less approval and are several percentage points behind Trump.

Joe Biden has been under pressure since the botched TV debate against Donald Trump . In front of the cameras, what had previously been suggested in countless video clips came true: Biden looked very old, had mental lapses and seemed absent at times.

Since then, negative reports about the president have been piling up in the US media. More and more Democrats are slandering Biden - mostly anonymously. And suddenly confirming what they had previously passionately denied: the mental and physical decline of the oldest president in US history.

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (84), whose word carries a lot of weight in the Democratic Party, stabbed the president in the back in an interview with MSNBC. She said it was a "legitimate question to ask: Is this an episode, or is this a state of affairs?"
